Yay, another week of Top Ten Tuesday! For those unfamiliar, this is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl that any book blogger can participate in. The meme focuses on prompt that all particpants make a list of 10 based off of. This week’s theme is Fall TBR.
But seriously, there are just too many books that I want to get to regardless of the season so I tried to pick some that kinda sorta had a season-y feel to it but I can’t say how successful I was. xD
First up is Tidal by Amanda Hocking! Mermaids, sirens, and the ocean…this series is decidedly more of a summer read. But I am borrowing each book from a friend as I get to them and read them at her recommendation so I am going to call this and the final book in the series the ending to my summer reading.
The rest of these are in no particular order by the way…
The Phantom of the Opera. Some of you may remember in my Down the TBR Hole last week this was one of the books that I kept. Autumn seems like a perfect time to read this classic and hopefully putting it on this TBR will only help encourage me to make sure that I get to it.
Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco. When I read the first book in this series I honestly did not think I was going to like it. But literally as soon as I finished it, I went to the store to by book 2. And I currently have two other friends reading the series because I absolutely adore it! So yeah book three? Escaping from Houdini is a must read for me.
When Women Ruled the World by Kara Cooney. I love reading about women in Ancient Egypt. They are some of the most fascinating historical figures to me in one of the most fascinating and magical time periods. This book comes out in November and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
The Spellbook of Katrina Van Tassel by Alylssa Palombo. A Sleepy Hollow story! If that isn’t a good book for a fall TBR I don’t know what is. I looooove Sleepy Hollow and actually just got approved for this book on Netgalley today!
Cursebreaker by Nancy Wentz. I actually just picked this book up the other day from a Half Price Books store. Naturally, I went in looking for something completely unrelated but this book was on their front display of seasonal books. It sounds really interesting and a little spooky so I am in!
I am Haunted by Zak Bagans. Okay so my husband and I love to watch this show. It is our favorite thing to bond over…as we laugh at it because some of this guys’ antics are so absolutely insanely ridiculous. So he actually bought this book for me in an airport last year while he was travelling for work and I keep saving it as an October read but I didn’t get to it last year. Every time I look at it, I think ‘oh no I can’t read that yet, it isn’t Halloween.’ So I have to get to it this year.
They Mostly Come Out at Night by Benedict Patrick. I read an excerpt for this book a few months ago and it completely grabbed me. Unfortunately, I never got around to reading the book. So looking over my TBR looking for nice, fall themed reads it jumped out at me. Monsters that only come out at night and destroy everything they see. Sign me up.
Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff. Okay now we are moving away from things that are decidedly “seasonal” reads. But this book has been sitting on my shelf for ages and I love so much of Kristoff’s other work that I really need to make this a priority and finish it by the end of the year.
The Black Tides of Heaven by JY Yang. Last but not least, I have seen everybody gushing over this series and I have been trying to get to more Asian-inspired reads so this is yet another book that I am going to try and make a priority.
What all are you guys planning to read in the fall? Let me know below!
