How It All Started
I had honestly meant to start a blog, or at least review site, for quite a while before I actually did. I have no idea how long. But then one weekend my brother and I were lamenting our lack of other people to gush with and to share in our love for books. So started the blog together! And about 6 months later started our podcast which has been very much a learning experience but also a blast!
Read what you want.
It is really easy to get caught up in new releases and books that get a lot of buzz and then to make them a super high priority because that buzz will get you more clicks and views. And if that particular book is something you are dying to read, then great! Go for it! But don’t put a book that you really want to read on the eternal backburner for the sake of a hyped book that you aren’t really sure about. Forcing yourself to read books that you aren’t really crazy about will quickly lead to being burnt out and not enjoying your reading experiences which is what this should all be about!
There are thousands upon thousands of people online that want to talk about the same books that you want to talk about. Go find them! Go out and comment on other people’s blogs and chat with them on Twitter and Instagram and Goodreads. Don’t make the mistake I did and blog in a bubble. It was lonely and it is so much more fun when you are meeting other people!
