This one was actually pretty hard for me. First of all, I am one of those people that don’t claim a favorite color. If I have one it is kind of a deep blue-green. Like a darker shade of teal. As I am having trouble describing it, there should be no surprise that I have next to no books with that color. My other trouble is that for some reason the vast majority of my books are either black or brown/tan. There is so little color on my shelves but I never noticed it before. Now that I do you can be sure I will be looking for titles with more color!
All that said, the color that I probably have the least amount of is purple which I do love. So I decided to take on the challenge (actually, the illustrated Prisoner of Azkaban and The Lies of Locke Lamora kept staring me down until I gave in a decided to give it a shot.
>>>You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)
So this one is more of an honorable mention because I ran out of purple books and also because it is an amazing memoir. Seriously. Even if you don’t read memoirs or non-fiction. Read her book.
>>>The Wizards of Once
As you can tell this is a library book and it is a Middle Grade book. But my daughter saw it yesterday and loved it so we decided to read it together. And the cover and the artwork all throughout the book are gorgeous.
I have been meaning to go back and reread this book because it has been so long since I read it and it is one that I think me being a little older will improve my opinion on the book. It is really dark and a lot of the things that I happen I remember being subtle so I have a feeling a lot went over my head before.
I just finished this book yesterday! So of course it was on my mind and happened to have the color to fit! It was a very good middle book in a series and I will be picking up the third book today.
>>>Furies of Calderon
I love this series. Furies of Calderon is the first book and not really my favorite as there are characters later on that were what made me fall in love with the books and Jim Butcher. I fully admit this is not the absolute greatest fantasy out there but I found it highly addicting and the characters stuck with me.
>>>The Seven Songs of Merlin
So I have not read these books since I was probably about 12 or 13. But this was my absolute favorite book in The Lost Years of Merlin series.
Certainly not my favorite of Brandon Sanderson’s work, although I did enjoy it. But the UK cover is just so pretty!! The gears and the steampunky-ness of it. I just love it.
>>>The Lies of Locke Lamora
I don’t even know what to say on this one. Of course I absolutely love the book. And I love the simplicity of the color scheme of the cover. It is detailed while remaining simple but conveys very well the tone of the setting.
>>>The Girl in the Tower
I am ashamed to admit that I still have not gotten around to reading this book. I feel like it is a good winter book though so I am almost considering waiting until it starts to get cold again. The cover though is one of the most beautiful covers I think I have ever seen. It is nothing short of gorgeous.
>>>The Illustrated Prisoner of Azkaban
Of the Illustrated Editions of the Harry Potter books, this one is by far my favorite. They are a bit pricey but when I saw it on the shelf at the bookstore, I suddenly forgot what my bank account looked like and just bought it because it was just to pretty to leave sitting there.
